Looking for something different to throw on the grill? Try grilling pizza! Grilled pizza has a wonderful crisp texture and gets a bit of a tasty charred flavor. The super hot temperature of the grill cooks pizza quickly, like a wood-fire oven. While you do the grilling, your kids can participate too. Here’s what they can do:

Prep Steps for KIDS:

  1. Flatten their dough
  2. Shred cheese
  3. Add their toppings

Keep it simple with store-bought dough and pizza sauce you make ahead or buy prepared at the store!

Here’s the how-to:

Heat your grill to 500 degrees.

Shape and flatten dough into thin rounds.

Have your toppings ready at a work station!

Clean your grill, then oil the grates with an oil-soaked paper towel and tongs.

Place the dough on the grill and close the cover.

Check every minute or so! Rotate the dough if necessary.

Once you see grill marks, remove the dough from the grill over to your work station.

Oil the raw side of the dough, then flip it over to place the sauce and toppings on the grilled side.

Place the pizza back on the grill, with the raw dough facing down, close the grill cover.

Check your pizza frequently (every minute or so) to avoid burning, rotate if necessary to cook evenly.

Enjoy!
